[A Bird And Basket]

You have a nice range of values on the basket, where the bird in contrast is fairly light even on its underside. The bird could use a bit darker shading and some more attention to the details of the feathers. I like the top of the basket unraveling; it takes on an interesting shape to look at, it has a good amount of detail, and the shading is smooth. Overall it's a strong piece of work.

Thanks :P The whole drawing was supposed to only be the basket, and when my teacher told me to put a random bird in it, I barely had the same concentration.
Aside from the bird, I feel as though the handle of the basket appears off and out of place~

Excellent drawing! I find fur/hair is always difficult to draw and emulate the texture, but you did a wonderful job. Also, your tags gave me a chuckle.

The attention to detail in your work is absolutely mind blowing. I have to say, you are amazing at making incredibly realistic looking textures. Do you make you own custom brushes, use photo texture samples, etc.? I really like the personalization of the character as well with the details and decals on her suit.

I use a bit of both, actually!

For some effects (concrete and metal, mostly), I will use pre-existing textures and photographs and warp their shape to follow my paintings. For skin, hair and some fabrics, I will make my own custom brushes and use a gaussian monochromatic noise for the grain of the skin. Also, once in a while, I will make my own pattern and apply it like a texture (.... hexagons, for instance ^^)

My photo textures mostly come from cgtextures.com. It's a great ressource!

Excellent.

I really like the use of mixed media to create a nice flow throughout the composition. The bright, warm colors of the paint set a nice contrast from the graphite.

But in all seriousness this really is fantastic work. I would certainly be very proud of it, as should you. The coloring is great and I really like your color choice for the lighting. The purple highlights really help this drawing pop. The detailing is nice as well, especially with all the small dents and scratches in the armor.

Hey man, nice shot...

This is a good shot, and the lighting is great. You did a good job getting the characters likenesses. Nice props too by the way. (airsoft right?)

Hopefully this will be allowed to stay in the portal as there's a rule against photography, be cause you've got some talent.

F15s are badass.

You did the F15 justice with this piece. The body shape is spot on and I actually like the camo you made. The only thing bugging me is the randomly placed missiles on the tip of the wings because there's actually nothing there to mount it to.

But still it's really sweet.

Yeah the Missiles were kind of a last minuet thing. I should go back and make better ones, but I just reused some old S.A.M. rockets that I modeled some time ago and used a 5 second bracket to make them look attached.
